Best Acne Treatments For Face & Body

This post will be sharing some of the best acne treatments for the face and body.

Having acne is like a right of passage for a lot of people.

Most times, it comes with puberty and can stay with you till your 30s.

But that shouldn’t be the end of the world.

Thankfully, these days we have turns of affordable and accessible drugstore products to treat and manage acne.

The trick is to find the products that work for you and be consistent with them.

Some ingredients are absolutely important in our skincare products when treating acne.

Look out for these ingredients in the drugstore or online when buying products.

If you choose this approach, you’ll save a lot of money by experimenting with various products that might not work for you.

In no particular order,

Salicylic Acid

Salicylic Acid is a Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) that penetrates the skin’s pores to unclog dead skin cells and impurities that cause breakouts and blackheads.

They come in cleansers, toners, exfoliants, and spot treatments, and they are some of the best products for fighting acne.

Salicylic Acid products should not be used more than two to three times a week.

Benzoyl Peroxide

If Salicylic Acid products don’t work for your acne, you can try Benzoyl Peroxide.

This amazing ingredient helps kill the bacteria that causes acne. Just like any other acne treatment, you need to be consistent to get results.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide, also known as Vitamin B3, is a multifunctional ingredient, particularly for those with oily acne-prone skin.

It works with your skin to help minimize enlarged pores and regulate sebum production.

If you can’t deal with how oily your skin is, it’s time to introduce a Niacinamide serum to your routine.

It is also great for brightening your skin tone and reducing the look of blemishes.

Sulfur

Similar to Benzoyl Peroxide, Sulfur also has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

These kill the bacteria that cause acne and prevent them from manifesting as blackheads on your skin.

When treating acne, it is always great to have options so you can find what works for your skin without sensitivities.

Sulphur is a must-have ingredient for acne-prone skin, whether as a spot treatment or face mask.

Adapalene

Adapalene is a topical retinoid that is used to treat mild to moderate acne.

It has been recommended by dermatologists over the years and is also the only Retinoid that is available over-the-counter.

The rest can only be obtained by prescription.

Adapalene treats acne deep in the pores at the source, prevents new acne from forming and, as a result of reduced acne, restores your skin’s natural texture and tone.

It is oil-free, safe to use and will not leave your skin sticky.

There are so many skincare products avaliable now to treat acne. You just need to find the ones that work for you and stick to them.
