This post will be reviewing the Cerave Eye Repair Cream.
Once upon a time, eye creams used to be glorified moisturisers.
They were formulated with little or no active ingredients.
But when they did, you’ll find brands using the weakest derivates to sell a product.
But thankfully, times have changed.
Anyone who still says eye creams are a scam is out of touch with the progression of the skincare industry.
Many eye creams on the market are formulated to treat all concerns, including dark circles, milia, puffiness, fine lines, and wrinkles.
Depending on your concern, you might have one eye cream that targets a single concern, like dark circles.
You might also find an all-around eye cream that targets fine lines, wrinkles and dark circles.

I did not know Cerave had an eye cream until I was browsing their catalogue of products.
Then I started to see it come up in a few videos here and there.
I immediately thought many people didn’t know about it until I searched how often it is searched monthly.
The results surprised me and confirmed that this product is not underrated.
Obviously, I had to try it as well.

First Impressions of the Cerave Eye Repair Cream
According to Cerave;
CeraVe Eye Repair Cream is ophthalmologist-tested and features a non-greasy, fast-absorbing, fragrance-free formula that works to minimize the appearance of dark circles and eye puffiness. It’s formulated with three essential ceramides, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and a Marine & Botanical Complex to help brighten your entire eye area.
Ingredient List & Fragrance
As with most Cerave products, this eye cream has the staple three essential Ceramides and Hyaluronic Acid, which isn’t surprising.
But I’m more concerned about the actual ingredients that would improve puffiness and dark circles.
Other ingredients include;
- Niacinamide
- Vitamin E
- Cholesterol
- Aloe Vera
To be honest, I’m not that impressed with the ingredient list.
They could have thrown in some Caffeine and Vitamin C derivatives to target puffiness and dark circles, respectively.
Instead, they’re making Niacinamide, which is probably 5%, to do all the grunt work.
I’m unsurprised as Cerave tries not to overload their products with too many actives.
It defeats the purpose of the product being gentle enough to work across all skin types.
In a way, this formula works as everyone, including those with sensitive skin, can use it.
Except you’re sensitive to Niacinamide.
As usual, it is alcohol, essential oil and fragrance-free.

Packaging, Texture & Consistency
Instead of the typically creamy consistency, this one is lightweight but feels like an emollient, nourishing balm, which I think is perfect for anyone with dry, dehydrated skin.
This texture will help retain moisture longevity and prevent hydration from dissipating.
I think it’s brillant if you ask me.
Thankfully, it is packaged in an applicator tube, making it easy to apply.
There’s little to no chance of using too much as the applicator dispenses the amount you need.
You need 2-3 dots, as a little goes a long way.
Price & Availability
As with most Cerave products, you can find this eye cream online and at major drugstores.
It’s generally affordable, and depending on where you buy it, you can also get it on sale sometimes.
Review of the Cerave Eye Repair Cream
I never really used eye creams until recently when I learned that your eyes are the first to show signs of ageing.
Since then, I’ve tried incorporating eye cream with anti-ageing ingredients.
I also struggle with puffiness, especially in the morning, so I’m always looking for eye creams with caffeine in them.
It goes without saying that this eye cream is not particularly suited for me because I don’t struggle with dark circles.
The only benefit I would get is moisture.

With that being said, if you still want to try this eye cream, here are some of the pros and cons;
Pros
- Lightweight and non-greasy.
- Easy to apply.
- Absorbed fast and doesn’t pill under makeup.
- Doesn’t sting the eyes and is great for sensitive eyes.
- Suitable for people with mild dark circles.
- Portable, affordable and readily available.
Cons
- Not enough active ingredients to target puffiness and moderate non-genetic dark circles.
- It might require consistent use for adequate results depending on the gravity of the dark circles.
Finally,
The Cerave Eye Repair Cream is honestly a decent product.
It might not be the best on the market, but it works for people with specific concerns, which as dry-sensitive under eyes with mild dark circles.
So, if you fall into this category, this product is for you.
