This post will be sharing six money-saving tips for Black Friday.
It’s that time of the year again when everyone loses their minds over Black Friday deals. Personally, I started my shopping on Singles Day, which happened on the 11th of November, especially since I was shopping at the Asian market.
I wanted to get a good headstart and ensure that my orders were dispatched before Black Friday. This way, I can get them before Christmas.
Over the years, I’ve learnt to spread my purchases over the different holidays instead of bombarding myself on Black Friday. With a few exceptions, more often than not, some brands have great deals all year round.
So, you don’t really have to splurge on Black Friday because it is the same discount on Valentine’s Day. An example is Paula’s Choice. Notwithstanding, everyone loves a good deal. I got one a few days ago; I just want to share some quick tips to help you save money this period.
It’s important to realize that, over time, brands have become more competent. So, it’s your duty as a consumer to read between the lines or simply outsmart them. This is where proper planning comes into place.
When planning your shopping, you can easily detect scam deals and go for genuine ones. In other words, don’t fall for the instant gratification of shopping on Black Friday without doing your due diligence.
Let’s explore a few ways you can save money on shopping!
Here Are Six Money-Saving Tips That Will Come In Handy For Black Friday
While spending your money as you wish is fine, these tips are specifically for people who want a good bang for their buck.
Create a shopping list
It might seem the most obvious thing to do, but it is essential. You need to have a list of things that you can get for a steal on Black Friday. As I mentioned, avoid brands that give the same discounts all year round. Instead, go for high-end products that hardly go on sale.
Check your wishlists to see products you have always wanted but couldn’t afford for various reasons. Writing down a shopping list will give you a rough idea of what you want vs what you really need. If you have to get gifts for Christmas, this is the time to include them on your list.
Create a budget
It’s so easy to go overboard on Black Friday. In fact, brands and retailers are counting on your impulsive spending habits. So, go one step ahead and create a budget. After completing your list of the essential things you can get good deals on, decide how much you want to spend overall.
This will give you an idea of when you have spent enough and prevent you from overspending. Depending on your spending habits, you can choose how strict or lenient you want. Obviously, if you are still able to get some spare change out of your budget, you can add a little extra cash to get something else. You just need to be reasonable.
Here’s How To Create A Personal Financial Plan For Your Life
Make a price comparison.
Listen, I’ve had tabs open of all the websites I want to buy from this period. All month again, as a bargain hunter, you want to find the best deal,, so you have to compare. Personally, I’ve made a bit of comparison in the past,, so off the top of my head, I know what websites have the best deals.
Still, I wanted to get something different this year, so I still have to make some price comparisons. In other words, shop around for the best deals before settling on one. For example, I wanted to get some body care products from a marketplace.
But for some reason, I wasn’t satisfied with their discounts. So, I went directly to one of the brand’s websites and got a deal of 30% off. If I hadn’t compared, I probably would have bought the products for the original price.

Monitor and track prices
Some people really don’t joke with their Black Friday planning. They even go as far as using a spreadsheet to track and monitor the changes in the prices over the weeks. I take the easy way out by adding things to my cart and then waiting until the price drops.
If you have time and energy, you can actually track prices. This way you can find filter out the fake vs real deals. Like I said earlier, you must outsmart the brands which are playing a fast one on their customers.
Make your purchases as fast as possible.
Again, these brands can be very sneaky. Once, the prices have dropped to a significant amount, checkout as soon as possible. If you prefer to wait till the last minute, take note of the time frame the deals will be available.
I don’t recommend you wait until the previous minute because the product might end up being out of stock and you’ll eventually lose out on it. So, be smart with your choices.
Stay away from social media if you’re not buying anything.
If you decide not to shop but can’t trust yourself to follow through, you might as well stay away from social media. This is because you might be overwhelmed and tempted to spend. So, log out all through the pre-Black Friday till Cyber Monday.
Finally,
I hope you’ll find these money-saving tips for Black Friday and Cyber Monday super good this year. Once you have mastered self-control by keeping your spending habits in check, you’ll be able to handle subsequent Black Fridays with no issues.
