This post will share seven must-read books to start and build a productive morning routine.

Morning Routines are honestly just so glamorized on social media.

While I swore those routines were unrealistic, I honestly can’t believe how life-changing they can be if you commit to one.

I recently started a new job, and while I used to have a semblance of a routine with my former flexible job, it is so different this time.

I’m working full-time and must build my routines around my job.

This includes my morning, gym routines, meal-prep and even travel routines.

That is the only way to have a semblance of a life outside my job.

Lately, I’ve found myself utilizing planners more than ever before.

I always want to be at the top of things with physical planners, which I design and print on Canva.

This has helped me structure my life to have a healthy work-life balance.

We can all agree that morning routines are not created equal.

You have people who work from home and roll out of bed five minutes before clocking in.

I wish I could do that, but I realized I would struggle to stop it once I started that habit.

Instead, I

  • set my alarm 30 minutes before I start work,
  • floss and brush my teeth,
  • wash my face if necessary,
  • do my skincare routine, wear sunscreen because my desk is beside a window, and
  • grab a cup of coffee or green tea before logging onto Teams.

This simple but effective routine has sustained me for the past three months.

So, if you’re struggling to build and start a productive morning routine, this post is for you.

Here Are Seven Books To Help You Build A Productive Morning Routine

Whenever I want to read about a subject matter, I like to read books.

Over time, I’ve discovered that once you sieve through the fluff, you’ll find some life-changing gems, which I will curate for you in this post.

Without further ado, here are some books you should be reading;

My Morning Routine by Benjamin Spall and Micheal Xander

Do you know how people wake up daily at 5 am and get a ton of work done before 9 am?

If you want to become an early bird, this book is for you.

This is a compilation of interviews with 64 successful people today and how they start their day.

You should check this out if you’re looking to boost your daily productivity and get a solid morning routine by getting up earlier.

The Miracle Morning By Hal Elrod

Sometimes, a life-changing event such as a near-fatal accident can change our lives and help us appreciate each day.

Recovering from an accident that almost took his life has helped this author shape his morning routine by prioritizing crucial steps that help him jumpstart a productive day.

So, if you want to take control of your life before life controls you, read this book.

The 5AM Club By Robin Sharma

There has to be something about 5 am that most successful people swear by.

I don’t get up at 5 am. I wish I had the motivation to do it, but I don’t, and I won’t force it.

Instead, I wake up early enough to get my day started.

So, if you want to see the hype about waking up and starting your morning routine at 5 am, try it out and see if it works for you.

What Most Successful People Do Before Breakfast By Laura Vanderkam

What better way can we justify the benefits of waking up early than by people who have succeeded while at it?

If you need an actionable plan to design and implement the ideal morning routine, this book is for you.

You’ll learn to manage your time better during the week and on weekends.

You’ll also learn how to get into the habit of getting up early by handling all the situations that might arise.

Daily Rituals By Mason Currey

Not all of us happen to work in the corporate world.

A lot of us are artists and creatives whose routines operate differently.

However, one way to get inspiration is to study the work habits of legendary artists, including Jane Austen and Picasso, through this book.

You never know what irregular routines and rituals could be the most productive.

The Science Of Living By Stuart Farrimond

If you already have an existing productive morning routine that has made you lethargic instead and want to switch things up a bit, you need to check out this book.

The book explores the science behind your daily routine and some common myths that shape your habits.

Doing this lets you assess your performance, make relevant changes, and reshape your life.

No one says you need to follow a routine forever.

Sometimes, it needs some tweaking.

Getting COMFY By Jordan Gross

While several self-help books and think pieces show you how to have the perfect morning routine, sometimes you just want to live your life on your terms.

This author offers a five-step method for tweaking your morning routine that helps you start the day as your best self.

Finally,

While the year’s first quarter is underway, it’s never too late to start a productive morning routine.

Read these books, get inspired and get to work!
