13 Super Useful Bedroom Storage Ideas

This post will share thirteen helpful bedroom storage ideas you can use.

I spent my New Year’s Eve changing rooms. I’ve been in the same room for almost two years, and it was time for a change, especially since I spent the first lockdown there too.

The chances of me moving by the end of 2020 were relatively high, so I spent the last few months organising my stuff into storage boxes to make the move slightly less tedious.

Plus, I’m a sucker for organisation, so I enjoyed shopping for different organisers for different purposes.

At the end of the day, I finished my move in a few hours. I like to think that having my stuff in organisers sped up the entire process.

Plus, I was getting a bigger closet space, which meant that I could just slot my organisers appropriately without worrying about clutter.

When I was done with the entire process, I realised that I had used about thirteen different types of storage organisers to organise my room in one day.

I don’t know about you, but that is a big win for me.

It immediately occurred to me that one of my readers might also be moving and might need bedroom storage ideas this new year.

If you fall into this category or you simply want to reorganise your bedroom, then this post is for you.

13 Super Useful Bedroom Storage Ideas In 2021

Here are 13 Clutter-Free Bedroom Storage Ideas On A Budget

Before buying storage organisers, consider what you need them for.

This prevented me from buying extra organisers that I didn’t need, saving me money.

Trust me, it is easy to get carried away with aesthetically pleasing items that can spice up your decor.

At the same time, it is easy to waste money.

So, I suggest you write out what you need to organise before buying.

Here are my faves that I’m currently using;

30 x 30 Storage Cubes

One of my favourite storage organisers to buy is the 30 x 30 Storage Cube, particularly the ones with lids.

I love how incredibly versatile they are.

Depending on the material used, they can also be quite sturdy.

I use mine to store various items, including hair extensions, wigs, tools, and accessories.

While storage cubes come in different sizes, I particularly love the 30 x 30 ones because they’re not too big or too small, just the perfect size.

Plus, they don’t take up too much space.

They fit in any little space a cube can. If you decide to buy a fancier one, it also doubles as a stool.

Tote Storage Boxes

Just like the 30 x 30 Storage Cubes, I also find the Tote Storage Boxes to be quite versatile.

You might not find the ones with lids, as they are mostly sold without them.

Notwithstanding, I’ve found it helpful for easily accessible items, such as my hair products and new toiletries.

Due to their wide width, they can also store a significant amount without overflowing.

Jewellery Organiser

If you’re a man or woman who wears jewellery, you would know how easy it is to misplace.

As such, you want them all in one location where you can easily reach them when you need them.

I love jewellery organisers with enough compartments to categorise them accordingly.

Bonus point if the organiser is cute.

Makeup Organiser

Just like pieces of jewellery, makeup also needs to be organised.

Unless you’re a makeup artist or influencer, you’ll probably not have a vanity room for your entire makeup stash.

So, your best bet is to get an organiser and keep them all together.

Depending on how often you wear makeup, you might need a portable travel organiser for your handbag and a bigger one that you would leave on your dresser.

Storage Tower

The very first major organiser I bought was a 3-drawer storage tower.

I love it so much because it can store so many things.

Right now, it currently stores my new, used and skincare empties that I review for this blog.

It is one of those handy storage solutions that you can fill to the brim without worrying about spills.

There’s absolutely nothing you can’t put in a storage tower, except maybe clothes and bedding.

Plastic Storage Box

The best thing about storage boxes is that they come in various sizes and shapes.

You can get either cloth, paper or plastic storage boxes, depending on what you need them for.

I use mine to store leftover items that hasn’t been used up.

From hair tools to accessories, stationery, hot water bottles and whatnot.

Yes, I have a lot of hair products because I create my own hairstyles. I literally have all the necessary salon supplies at home, hence why they need to be organised. This includes natural hair products, hair extensions and wig supplies.

Jumbo Storage Bag

One of my favourite bedroom storage ideas is the Jumbo storage bag.

I love this so much because I can store my duvet, throws, jackets, blankets and off-season clothing.

Right now, I have four jumbo storage bags for my Summer, Autumn, Spring and Vacation outfits.

Depending on how you fold your clothes, one bag can store quite a lot of clothes.

So, take your time and maximise the space.

Even though I prefer not to, jumbo storage bags can easily fit under your bed.

Here are the top five tips for organising your home.

Cable Organizer

Another favourite purchase of 2020 was my cable organiser.

Instead of having cables and chargers littered around the house, a cable organiser keeps them perfectly neat, tidy and hidden.

If you have been struggling to keep your cables tidy, consider getting a cable organiser.

Hanging Shelves

If you have extra space in your closet that needs to be maximised, consider getting a hanging shelf.

Most of the time, they come with five compartments that you can use to store your beddings, knitwear, or any other item that isn’t too heavy to overpower them.

I’ve found the hanging shelf helpful for storing items that can’t be hung individually or folded in drawers.

Over the door hooks

I’m sure you have one or two over-the-door hooks that you use at the moment.

But if you don’t, consider getting one to hang your coats and bags.

It is beneficial to have one by your entrance for guests and in your bedroom for yourself.

Storage baskets

Sometimes, storage boxes are too big for specific items like stationery, supplements, or keys.

You need a couple of storage baskets to organise items that you use daily.

You don’t want them too far away, but close enough to reach when you need a quick fix.

Buy on Amazon

Rotating organizer

I remember the first time a rotating organiser was introduced to the market.

I saw it literally everywhere, but I didn’t get mine until recently to store my skincare products.

Now that I have been using it for a bit, I understand why everyone wanted their hands on it.

It’s so handy!

Even though it might not take as many products as a storage box, it is equally helpful for your daily skincare routines.

Dresser organizers

If rotating organisers aren’t your thing and you prefer something static, you can go for a static dresser organiser instead.

I’ve seen so many gorgeous ones that I’ve been tempted to buy even though I don’t need them.

They’re usually spacious enough to organise the few skincare products you use daily.

So, if you find yourself constantly looking for one product or the other, it means you need to get an organiser.

In Conclusion,

I hope you found these bedroom storage ideas beneficial.

It has helped me declutter and organise my room. I hope it does the same for you, too.
