This post will be reviewing the Benton Fermentation Eye Cream.
A lot of skincare professionals believe eye creams are mostly a scam. Which is partly true. I mean they are literally glorified moisturizers with the only difference being the texture. Products formulated for the eye area are usually very thin which encourages absorption because of how delicate and sensitive the area is.
But in recent times, we’ve seen an uprise in eye creams formulated with active ingredients to treat skin concerns around the eye area. Including undereye wrinkles, fine lines, puffiness and dark circles. This means we are now seeing more eye creams with ingredients such as Vitamin C, Retinol, Niacinamide, Caffeine and Peptides to mention a few.
Korean Skincare is not left out. There are quite a number of brands that formulate eye creams with active ingredients specifically to fight under eye wrinkles. So, you’ll find eye creams with Snail, Peptides, Probiotics, Collagen, Ceramides, Ginseng, EDF to mention a few. As with the rest of the industry, they take a more preventive approach which is perfect for me. While I’m in my late 20s, I really don’t have any concerns around my eye area yet. But using Korean eye creams will help me prevent under eye wrinkles and fine lines in the coming years.
I’ve been using this particular eye cream for a while now and I’m so thrilled to talk about it.
First Impressions of the Benton Fermentation Eye Cream
According to Benton:
Fermented ingredients such as Galacytomyces ferment filtrate and Bifida ferment lysate work together with ceramide, EGF and hyaluronic acid to give this highly concentrated eye cream the power to diminish fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes without causing irritation or sensitivity. With regular use, the delicate skin becomes firmer, refined and less prone to dryness.
For those that are not familiar with Benton, they are a cruelty-free Korean Brand founded in 2011. They are one of the pioneers of ‘clean beauty’ in Korea that formulate products without harmful or irritating ingredients. I have been using the brand for a couple of years and I have quite a few of their products in my stash.

The key ingredients in this eye cream are;
- Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate which enhances skin elasticity
- Bifida Ferment Lysate also helps with hydration and elasticity.
- Ceramide NP helps to reinforce the skin barrier and prevent transepidermal water loss (TEWL)
- Oligopeptide and Adenosine generally help with wrinkle care by building collagen and elastin and increasing firmness.
Not to forget all the other accompanying ingredients like Allantoin, Panthenol, Aloe Leaf Extract, Beta-Glucan to mention a few. Consistency & Texture
Oh, I love this so much! Particularly the way it comes out in a squeeze tube. I never feel that I’m using too much or too little. It is just right with the right squeeze. It has a super lightweight but moist consistency that absorbs quickly into the skin and doesn’t feel too heavy or too runny, it is just right. I feel like the formulation of this product is very strategic to encourage consistency with the product. I personally always look forward to it towards the end of my night routine. It is generally quite a pleasant experience to use.
Price & Packaging
As I mentioned earlier, it comes in a squeeze tube that aids easy application. You don’t have to squeeze too much to get the right quantity for your eye area. I’m sure you know that you shouldn’t use heavy products under your eyes. This is such a perfectly – packaged product. As for the price? It is quite reasonable since it lasts for quite a long time. You’ll literally be begging for it to finish so you can move on to another product.
Review of the Benton Fermentation Eye Cream
I’m in my late 20s and I’m yet to have any ageing concerns around my eye area asides from the occasional puffiness so I can’t exactly speak on its effectiveness on wrinkle care. However, I can speak of its performance as a moisturizing eye cream.
Performance
So I use this eye cream in the last few steps of my nighttime routine. ( During the way if I have to go out, I use The Ordinary Caffeine Solution for puffiness if I have to step out otherwise I couldn’t be bothered) This is because I prefer to extend all my toners, essences and sometimes serums to my eye area. So, I finish up the eye cream just before my emollient moisturizer and occlusive. Can I just say that I can definitely feel the difference between when I have the eye cream on and when I don’t. My eye area is a lot more moisturized, less dry and less prone to fine lines.
It is non-greasy, non-sticky and doesn’t leave a tacky finish. It goes on smoothly especially if you need to wear makeup. You don’t have to worry about your concealer creasing or developing milia because of a heavy eye cream.
After using the product for a while now, my eye area is also a lot more firm which I’m sure is as a result of the probiotics in the eye cream. All in all, this is a great preventive eye cream against under eye wrinkles and fine lines. Now, if you already have these eye concerns, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to try this product and be consistent with it to see results.
