COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream – 2023 Review

This post will be reviewing the Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream.

I recently started exploring more Korean sunscreens after my first success with the Missha Essence Sun Milk which is a chemical sunscreen. Naturally, I was looking forward to trying a physical sunscreen to make an accurate comparison. So far, I’ve realized that I’m indifferent about the filters used in the sunscreens. I’m more concerned about the various sunscreens I can use in different seasons.

While on the hunt for a physical sunscreen, I came across the Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream which happens to be one of the best Korean sunscreens in the market. At the time I bought it, I didn’t even know that. All I knew was that I trusted COSRX as a brand. Plus the sun cream had Aloe Vera as one of its ingredients so it had to be moisturizing.

By the way, I have an in-depth post on 10 Best Korean Sunscreens Under $25. Check it out for more recommendations.

First Impressions of the Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream

According to COSRX,

Formulated with Aloe Arborescens Leaf Extract, the daily soothing sunblock is so lightweight that is feels like a moisturizer, and it does not leave any white cast.

Overview

This is a moisturizing hybrid sunscreen. This means that it uses both physical and chemical filters. So you get the best of both worlds. If you are just starting out with sunscreens and you’re not sure what to go for, I suggest you start with this. This product will give you a feel of how an ideal sunscreen should look like.

Consistency & Texture

Compared to the Missha Essence Sun Milk which has a milky texture, the Cosrx Aloe Soothing Suncream has a creamier texture that applies like a moisturizer.

I started to use it during the summer and I did not need to use a moisturizer. In fact, I did a TikTok video for a two step morning routine where I just hydrated my face with a toner and applied the SPF. I used this routine for most of the Summer until I had to layer a serum and moisturizer at the beginning of Autumn.

While it has a lightweight consistency, you can feel the creaminess after application. It doesn’t immediately absorb and dissapear into your skin. It sits on your skin a bit until it is slowly absorbed after a few hours. Usually, when I take it off at the end of the day, I never feel it anymore.

It’s also not sticky or anything. It’s such a nice pleasant experience.

Price

Like most Korean sunscreens, it is affordable and easily accessible. You can get it on Amazon for as little as $14.

Ingredient List

COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream - 2020 Review

Like I mentioned earlier, this sunscreen uses Titanium Dioxide as a physical filter. It also uses Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid and Isoamyl p-Methoxycinnamate as chemical filters.

Asides that it uses Glycerin and Aloe vera extract to soothe and moisturize the skin. The downside of this sunscreen is that it is formulated with Alcohol and Fragrance. If your skin is anything like mine and is indifferent to either of those skincare sins, you should definitely give this sunscreen a shot. It is worth trying out. Plus, it is cheap so there is really nothing to use.

Review of Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream

COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream - 2020 Review

There is no such thing as too much sunscreen especially since most of us are guilty of not applying nearly enough. Thankfully, there are nicer sunscreens on the market now so we have no excuse to not apply sufficient SPF.

This sun cream comes in a 60ml tub that last quite a while. I’ve used it everyday for about six weeks now and I have about a quarter left.

What I Do

Depending on the season, I use the two-finger sunscreen rule to apply it all over my face. During the warmer season, I skip my moisturizer and apply it alone. When it gets cold, I layer it with other hydrating and moisturizing products and use it as the last step.

It gives my skin a nice glow and most importantly, doesn’t leave a WHITE CAST!

In Conclusion,

This is a very nice beginner friendly hybrid sunscreen. It is affordable, accessible and doesn’t leave a white cast. Plus COSRX as a brand makes such amazing products that have easily become a staple in my skincare routine. Trust me, there is a reason why this brand is popular globally.

I’ve had a really great experience with this sunscreen and I’m definetly going to repurchase.

Where To Buy

AMAZON or STYLEVANA or JOLSE or YESSTYLE
