Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre – Review

This post will be reviewing the Embryolisee Lait Creme Concentre.

During my initial voyage into French Pharmacy Skincare, I discovered some of their cult favourites, and this moisturizer happens to be one of them. Apparently, French Girls swear by this multi-function nourishing moisturizer for their skin’s needs. Over the years, it has gained popularity by becoming the go-to moisturizer for celebrities and makeup artists all over the world. I think this is a result of how versatile this product is across various skin types. Imagine finding a product that will save you time and money because it agrees with different skin types. Of course, it will be a global bestseller.

Thankfully, it also comes in a small 30ml size, so I decided to try it. Before then, I discovered the fluid version for the body while researching more products from the brand and instantly fell in love. I enjoyed using the Embryolisse Lait Creme Fluide for my body during the warmer months. It’s literally the same formulation with just a different consistency.

I’m halfway through the tub, and I decided to share my review before I run out of it!

First Impressions of the Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre

According to the brand;

Lait-Crème Concentré  is a rich moisturizing lotion. A creamy lotion that is really three products in one: the make-up artists use it as a primer, moisturizer, and make-up remover. It also reduces irritation after shaving!

A real beauty secret, favoured by dermatologists for decades; a combination of ingredients of natural origin, rich in essential fatty acids and vitamins. Provides the skin with all the nutrients and water needed for its balance, and accelerates cell renewal. Moisturizes, nourishes and repairs, the skin becomes supple. It is plumped, smoothed, and incredibly soft. Signs of dryness and discomfort disappear.

Its creamy milk texture leaves a satin film, even on dry skin. The skin’s surface is softer and more radiant and revitalised.

Ingredient List & Fragrance

If you’re familiar with French Pharmacy Skincare products, you’ll notice that they mostly have similar ingredients with just a slight difference. It also applies to this product. But before we move on, let’s see what makes this moisturizer tick;

• Paraffin Liquidum aka Mineral Oil
• Shea Butter
• Beeswax
• Aloe Vera
• Hydrolzed Soy Proteins
• Fragrance

Super short and straightforward. This is one of the few occasions I don’t mind the fragrance because it is barely noticeable. It’s subtle and unlikely to cause any irritation, so I suggest you don’t allow that to deter you. Asides from that, it has a nice mix of humectants (Aloe Vera, Soy Proteins), emollient (Shea Butter) and occlusives (Beeswax and Mineral Oil) to make a solid moisturizer. It truly is the perfect moisturizer.

Texture & Consistency

I got this product a while ago, but after testing out the texture, I decided to keep it until the Autumn/Winter. It somehow felt too emollient for the warmer months, which is why I settled for the Embryolisse Lait Creme Fluide.

It has a creamy milky consistency that looks lightweight at first glance. But after application, you can feel the emollient and occlusive ingredients coming to play. It feels like a moisturizing mask that traps in all moisture and prevents your skin from drying out. You can instantly feel a film all over your face. Not the wrong kind of greasy film but the good type that leaves a smooth and dewy finish. I honestly have no faults with this product. It feels just right.

Did I also mention that it leaves your skin super dewy? I feel like I have to repeat it. If you prefer matte products, this might not be the one for you.

Packaging, Price & Avaliability

It is packaged in a metal squeeze tube that is perfect as there is no room for air or moisture to go in. It also comes in two significant sizes, the 30ml and the 75ml sizes. The former retails for about $17 while the latter goes for $27. It’s not the cheapest moisturizer. But one of the perks of living in Europe is that you can always get it on sale. Plus, it is also readily available.

Review of the Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre

So, I started using this product about a month ago. I use it at the last step of my nighttime skincare routine before finishing up with a layer of Aquaphor Healing Ointment. This has kept my skin moisturized all night. It’s not that I can’t use this moisturizer alone because I have on a few occasions. I just prefer to take extra precautions because the winter has been brutal lately.

Performance

I honestly don’t have anything bad to say about this product as it works so well for my dry, dehydrated skin. After layering my toner, essence and serums, it is the perfect moisturizer to lock in all those products. There was a time when I started to experience some irritation which I think was due to a compromised skin barrier, I used this moisturizer with my hydrating products, and my skin bounced back so quickly.

Every time my skin felt sensitive after applying Retinal, one layer of this moisturizer was enough to soothe my skin instantly. Whatever skin type, you have if you are currently struggling with dry winter skin, you should definitely get this product. It is lightweight enough to work across all skin types, especially during the winter. Every other season, it might feel too heavy. But don’t be quick to condemn the product; it will come in real handy when it gets cold.

Every year, my list of effective winter moisturizers keep growing, and I couldn’t be happier. It is such a struggle to find an emollient moisturizer for my dry, dehydrated skin, which is why I have to go through a lot. Thankfully, the Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre has joined the list of my winter approved moisturizers.
