This post will review the SKIN1004 Hyalu-Cica Water Fit Sun Serum SPF50+.
Even after reviewing over a dozen Korean sunscreens, I’m constantly looking for new ones.
I enjoy trying new products and hardly use the same ones twice.
There are so many to choose from, and I don’t want to limit myself to just a few.
Anyway, now that it is getting cold, I’m looking for a moisturizing sunscreen that will replace my current staple; the Bondi Sands Face SPF 50+.
When it comes to my autumn/winter sunscreens, the greasier they are, the better.
This way, I can still skip moisturizers in the mornings without feeling dehydrated.
So when SKIN1004 reached out to me to try out their new sunscreen. I was immediately excited.
SKIN1004 is a Korean Skincare brand that formulates high-quality products with plant-based ingredients from Madagascar’s ‘untouched nature‘.
The brand primarily uses Centella Asiatica, which is directly from Madagascar.
I’ve used several Centella products in the past, and I know how well they agree with my skin by providing healing and soothing benefits.
Most of my favourite barrier repair products have one form of Centella.
SKIN1004 has five product lines: Centella, Hyalu-Cica, Zombie Beauty, Tone Brightening Lines and a new line launching early next year.
Their best-selling product, which I’m sure you might have seen before, is the Madagascar Centella Ampoule.
I honestly can’t wait to try it and share my thoughts.
Today, I’ll review the sunscreen from the Hyalu-Cica line, which I’ve used for a couple of weeks.
First Impressions of the SKIN1004 Hyalu-Cica Water Fit Sun Serum SPF50+
According to SKIN1004;
A non-nano chemical sunscreen that blocks UV rays, while simultaneously hydrating the skin. Leaves skin with a moisturized, dewy finish.
KEY INGREDIENTS:
Hyalu-Cica Formula: Our unique combination of Centella Asiatica Extract and Hyaluronic Acids simultaneously heals and hydrates the skin.
Ingredient List, Sunscreen Filters & Fragrance
The product’s name immediately indicates that Hyaluronic Acid is one of the primary ingredients in this sunscreen.
But what about the rest?
It includes;
- Glycerin
- Niacinamide
- 9.8% Centella Asiatica Extract
- Green Tea
- Vitamin E
- Adenosine
It is also worth mentioning that it is formulated with three types of Hyaluronic Acids and seven kinds of Baby Sprouts, which are, in essence, plant extracts.
Overall, the ingredient list is decent, with ingredients that are familiar to most Korean sunscreens.
As always, the product is also alcohol, essential oil and fragrance-free.
Sunscreen Filters
The sunscreen has been labelled SPF50+ with PA++++.
So, let’s see if it has enough filters to provide adequate UVA & UVB protection.
This is a chemical sunscreen with the following filters;
- Uvinul A Plus – provides UVA protection.
- Uvinul T 150 – provides UVB protection
- Tinosorb M – provides both UVA & UVB protection.
- Uvasorb HEB – provides both UVA & UVB protection.
Ideally, I’m always looking for chemical sunscreens with 4-6 filters.
This way, I know for sure that I’m adequately protected. SKIN1104 have used just about the correct number of filters in this sunscreen, providing broad-spectrum protection.
Packaging, Texture & Consistency
This sunscreen is packaged in a 50ml pump bottle, reminding me why I generally love Korean Skincare packaging.
The pump dispenses a lightweight serum-like product which absorbs immediately on application.
It is non-sticky and non-greasy with a natural finish.
As I tend to layer over hydrating essences and serums, it gives me an extra-lasting glow that I always appreciate.
Despite being lightweight and hydrating, I also find it moisturizing enough to skip my moisturizers.
That is definitely a win for me.
It is also fragrance-free, so it smells like nothing, which is excellent if you have sensitive skin.
Overall, this is a sunscreen that would work across all skin types.

The official retail price is $19, which is not too bad.

Review of the SKIN1004 Hyalu-Cica Water Fit Sun Serum SPF50+
I have dry, dehydrated skin, and I use this product at the last step of my morning skincare routine.
I layer it over my hydrating toner, essence, and treatment serums, which are in four steps.
As I mentioned earlier, while using this sunscreen, I realized I could conveniently skip my moisturizer in the morning without feeling dry.
I also noticed that my skin was much more hydrated throughout the day.
This, I’m guessing, is a result of the Hyaluronic Acid.
It is also non-sticky and doesn’t leave a white cast, reminding me of the general cosmetic elegance of Korean Skincare products.
Honestly, what’s not to love?
This is definitely my new favourite sunscreen.

- Solid chemical filters provide good protection
- No white cast
- Non–greasy and non-sticky
- Non-tacky with a natural finish.
- Hydrating and moisturizing
- Doesn’t sting the eyes
- Can work across most skin types.
- Doesn’t pill; it layers well under makeup and over skincare products.
- Absorbs super fast into the skin after application
- Convenient texture for reapplication
Cons
- Not necessarily water-resistant or sweat-proof.
I tried so hard to find something I didn’t like about this sunscreen, but I couldn’t really find anything.
