This post will review The Ordinary Multi-Antioxidant Radiance Serum.
Despite having a minimalist anti-ageing routine, I recently found myself gravitating back to The Ordinary.
I think it’s because I’ve used the brand for so many years, and my skin generally agrees with the formulas.
Also, I’m not really looking into new products to avoid the hyperpigmentation that comes with breakouts if my skin doesn’t agree with them.
In essence, I’ve built somewhat of a routine with staple products I keep returning to.
But then every once in a while, I get emails about The Ordinary’s new releases.
I do a quick scan to see if it’s something that works with my current simplified routine.
If it doesn’t, I ignore.
If it does, I add it to a wishlist to try out in my next haul.
Despite having a streamlined routine, I still have wiggle room for hydrating toners and treatment serums.
So, when I saw this new product, I thought I should give it a try, especially since I was about to run out of another product I went back to, The Ordinary 23% Vitamin C Suspension.
I’m 75% done with the bottle now, and I thought I should share my thoughts.
First Impressions of The Ordinary Multi-Antioxidant Radiance Serum
According to The Ordinary;
Multi-Antioxidant Radiance Serum is a daily serum combining a wide range of protective technologies to combat multiple concerns associated with environmental damage and visibly brighten dull skin.
Multi-Active Radiance Serum works to combat environmental stressors, like pollution and smog, which can make skin look dull and prematurely aged.
The formulation boosts radiance, while helping to fade visible dark spots and smooth the look of skin texture, all of which help to reduce the appearance of atmospheric skin aging.
Multi-Antioxidant Radiance Serum combines a total of 8 technologies, including antioxidants such as vitamin C and ginseng, to achieve a multi-faceted approach to environmental support, suited to use both in the day and at night.
When used in the day, the serum-textured formulation helps shield against the damaging effects of pollution, while providing lasting hydration and barrier support for enhanced skin resilience.
When used at night, it continues to offer antioxidant protection while skin is in its resting and repair stages, working to boost radiance for skin that is visibly more radiant during the day.
Ingredient List & Fragrance
To be honest, I didn’t really pay much attention to the ingredient list when I picked this up.
I typically gravitate to anything that has to do with brightness and radiance.
Plus, I had just exhausted my Vitamin C serum and needed a replacement.
This looked good enough, and I jumped on it.
If you have been following The Ordinary from the beginning, you would know that they built their brand with single-ingredient products.
Over the years, they have now evolved to provide a range of what they call Multi Active Solutions.
This basically means instead of a single ingredient product, they now offer products with multiple ingredients.
The Multi-Antioxidant Radiance Serum is the latest product in this range.
The eight key ingredients include:
- Ascorbyl Glucoside: a stabilised form of Vitamin C.
- Ginseng Extract: a plant extract that protects the skin against external aggressors.
- EGCG also protects the skin from external aggressors that contribute to the signs of ageing.
- Acetyl Tetrapeptide-2 & Heptapeptide-6, which are peptides that target the appearance of uneven skin tone and protect against environmental aggressors that cause ageing.
- Ergothioneine: an antioxidant that also protects against external aggressors, which cause visible skin damage.
- Tocotrienols: a source of Vitamin E that protects the skin from the damaging effects of environmental pollution.
- Tremella Fuciformis Sporocarp Extract: a polysaccharide that acts as a humectant and occlusive.
As you can see, this serum is an antioxidant powerhouse, which ideally should be used with sun protection every morning.
As always, the product is alcohol, essential oil and fragrance free.
Packaging, Texture & Consistency
In the usual fashion of The Ordinary, this serum is packaged in a 30ml pipette bottle.
I actually expected the bottle to be darker as Vitamin C degrades when exposed to light.
Until I realised that the Vitamin C used is a derivative, which is a lot less sensitive.
This serum is water-based, which makes it very easy to use on its own or with other products.
Price & Availability
The product retails for £14.20, which I think is very reasonable.

Review of The Ordinary Multi-Antioxidant Radiance Serum
As I mentioned earlier, I have a pretty simple routine these days as I’m trying to prioritise quality over quantity as someone in her early 30s.
Rather than using multiple products, I’m picking multi-functional products which help keep my routine as minimal as possible.
Also, I have a terrible habit of hoarding skincare.
I’ve had to get rid of quite a lot over the last year which had expired.
This has helped me control my buying and curb impulsive spending
As soon as my previous Vitamin C serum ran out, I started using this one, and now I’m almost out of it.
Performance
With Summer underway, there’s nothing more timely than a potent antioxidant serum paired with SPF.
Despite being nice and warm, numerous environmental aggressors could negatively impact the skin, including sun exposure, heat, humidity, and pollution.
This is why I have felt very confident using this serum daily in the last couple of months.
So, if you’re looking for an excellent antioxidant for this Summer, I cannot recommend this enough.
You would notice that I’m not really emphasising skin brightness or radiance.
Despite The Ordinary’s claims about radiance, I feel like this serum’s strength tilts a lot more towards being an antioxidant compared to a brightening serum.
A little caveat..
Aside from the serum being great, my only issue is that when it is applied on wet skin, which I tend to do a lot as I have dry skin and usually prevent it from drying out before applying products, it ends up foaming up, which is similar to pilling.
I’ve found a way around it by ensuring that either my skin or my hands are damp beforehand.
This way, other products are well layered over it.
Ideally, you want to use this serum first before layering with other products.
In Conclusion,
The Ordinary Multi-Antioxidant Radiance Serum is an excellent product.
I like the direction The Ordinary is going by providing people like me with options because I have definitely outgrown the single-ingredient products.
I’m looking forward to the rest of the products that will be released in the Multi-Active range in the future.
