Aveeno Calm And Restore Range – Review

*This post may contain affiliate links, which means I may receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you make a purchase through a link! This supports me and keeps my blog running.*

This post will review the Aveeno calm and restore range.

After years of pushing drying products, drugstore brands are starting to innovate and formulate hydrating and barrier repair products.

It took them so long, but they’re finally here.

Yeah, the products might not be up to par with Korean Skincare, but it’s still an improvement from nothing.

I never really paid attention to Aveeno in the past until I stumbled on this range.

It forced me to step back and research what made the brand tick.

Turns out, they just use all forms of oatmeal to create soothing products for the body.

I’m unsure if they had facial products before now, but this Calm and Restore range intrigued me enough to purchase the cleanser.

I’ve been using it for a while, and I’ve recently introduced the serum and the moisturiser.

So, I thought this was a great time to review the range and decide if it was worth it.

Frankly, I manage my expectations to avoid disappointment regarding drugstore brands.

I’ll be sharing brief reviews on the products in this range.

Aveeno Calm And Restore Nourishing Oat Facial Cleanser

Key Ingredients: Oat Kernel Flour, Vitamin E and Glycerin

Aveeno Calm And Restore Range - Review

This cleanser is a hybrid of a gel and creamy cleanser.

The texture is honestly so lovely.

The first time I used it at night, I was disappointed because it didn’t lather despite several pumps.

But then realised that it was probably just a gentle morning cleanser.

So, I switched and used it in the morning the same way I used my Cerave Hydrating Cleanser, which made all the difference.

I prefer non-foaming cleansers in the mornings and reserve foaming cleansers at night, so this was perfect.

It’s soothing and hydrating and won’t leave your skin barrier stripped of moisture.

Instead, it would leave it hydrated. It is ideal for my barrier repair routine when cutting down on actives.

So, don’t expect it to remove your makeup because it probably wouldn’t.

Instead, oil cleanse first and use this afterwards.

Aveeno Calm And Restore Triple Oat Serum

Key Ingredients: Glycerin, Oat Kernel Flour, Oat Kernel Extract, Oat Kernel Oil.

Aveeno Calm And Restore Range - Review

In theory, this is a great barrier repair serum for people sensitive to Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide, which seem to be in every product right now.

The triple oat complex feels like applying actual oats on your face.

The only difference is it’s a formulated product that is actually calming and soothing.

There are no active ingredients to irritate or sensitise your skin, just plain soothing ingredients.

Honestly, what’s not to love?!

It might seem basic, but sometimes, basic is what you need to reset your skin and restore your skin’s damaged barrier.

Depending on how heavy-handed you are, you might need a few pumps to go over your face and give you the hydration you desire.

Regardless, it is non-sticky and will sink into your skin immediately.

Aveeno Calm And Restore Oat Gel Moisturizer

Key Ingredients: Glycerin, Oat Kernel Flour, Oat Kernel Extract, Vitamin E

Aveeno Calm And Restore Range - Review

In the last year, this moisturiser has been my go-to recommendation for people with oily skin.

I’m personally not a fan of gel moisturisers because they’re usually not enough for my dry, dehydrated skin.

But this is perfect for people with oily skin or anyone who needs a lightweight moisturiser for the warmer months.

As expected, it sinks right into the skin on application.

Again, if you’re anything like me and used to heavy hydration, this might not be hydrating enough for you, so bear that in mind.

Aveeno Calm And Restore Oat Toning Lotion

Key Ingredients: Glycerin, Oat Kernel Flour, Vitamin E

I don’t trust drugstore toners for any reason, so you would not catch me buying them.

But if your skin feels dehydrated and like it could do extra hydration, you can also try this toner.

The formula is pretty simple, with the same key ingredients.

So, if your skin tolerates the other products in this range, you should also be OK with this.

SHOP THE RANGE

Finally

This range is not too bad if you ask me. It definitely can be improved with some Ceramides, Panthenol, Allantoin and Adenosine here and after.

Most people tolerate these specific soothing products in barrier repair products.

But if there’s one thing Aveeno has perfected, it is formulating products with Oat Extracts.

I’m not sure any other brand has perfected it like them.

So if your skin is dry, red, itchy, irritated or just overly sensitive than usual, this range is worth trying out.

You can use it alone or incorporate it with the rest of your activities.

Did I also mention that it is essential oil and fragrance-free? It absolutely is!
