This post will review the Cezanne High Moist Skin Conditioner.
It’s been well over two years since I used a Japanese toner which is way too long. But it is honestly not my fault because these toners usually come in 500ml sizes and literally take about a year to finish. I cannot use and review other toners during this period.
I often use them on my body when I get bored with them halfway. Other times, I try to use them more generously to run through them quickly. Even with that, they still take forever to exhaust. So I’ve decided to stop forcing it. So be it if I have to use one toner for a year.
The last Japanese toner I used was the Kikumasamune High Moist Lotion. I think I used about two bottles because it came in a pump 500ml bottle, so it is super easy to drench my entire body.
Unfortunately, the Cezanne High Moist Toner doesn’t come in a pump bottle, so it’s a bit inconvenient to apply on the body.
I can only say that Japanese toners have always been the best value for money, and this one isn’t any different.
For those who don’t know, Cezanne is a Japanese brand established in 1964 and known for its bestselling drugstore makeup products. They have a few skincare products in their portfolio, and this toner is one of them.
I’ve used about a quarter of this product and am ready to share my thoughts.

First Impressions of the Cezanne High Moist Skin Conditioner
According to Stylevana:
A highly moisturizing ceramide lotion that has excellent moisturizing power and protects the skin from dryness.
Contains 28 types of beauty moisturizing ingredients such as 3 types of human ceramide *, sodium hyaluronate, and Coix seed extract.
* Ceramide AP, Ceramide NP, Ceramide EOP (beauty moisturizing ingredient)
Ingredient List & Fragrance
According to Ratzilla, the English-speaking authority on Japanese skincare, there are 31 herbal extracts in this product which doesn’t really shock me because I’m more interested in how hydrating the toner is.
But some of the ingredients include:
- Soybean Extract
- Rosemary leaf extract
- 3 Essential Ceramides
- Glycerin
- Hyaluronic Acid
- Amino Acids like Glycine, Serine, Alanine, Arginine, Threonine, Proline
- Cholesterol
- Aloe Leaf Juice
- Allantoin
- Job’s tears, etc.
Despite the number of plant extracts, all I can see here is all good stuff. I remember one of the reasons why this toner is popular in the Asian beauty community is because of the three essential Ceramides.
Compared to all other watery toners on the market, this one reinforces the skin’s barrier.
Again, toners are primarily suitable for hydrating and keeping skin soft and supple. So don’t try to place too many expectations on a toner bottle.
As always, this toner is also alcohol, essential oil and fragrance-free.

Packaging, Texture & Consistency
As I mentioned earlier, this toner is packaged in a 500ml bottle. I recently discovered that it also comes in a 410ml size, which is pointless. One of the beauties of Japanese jumbo toners is their size. Anything less than 500ml defeats the charm, but that’s just me.
I’m honestly not a fan of the applicator on the bottle. It would have been perfect if it came in a pump bottle. That way, I could conveniently use it on my body as well.
But this cap applicator isn’t too bad, enabling me to generously apply and layer the toner. Dare I say, it is the perfect applicator for the ‘7 Skins’ method of hydrating.
As you can see, this is a watery toner with a slightly viscous consistency which aids hydration. This means the product has much more weight than liquid toners without viscosity. The former is excellent for hydration, while the former is for refreshing.
The toner’s weight doesn’t prevent it from completely sinking into the skin on application. Albeit slightly slower, it sinks into the skin without leaving anything behind.
I never let it dry down because it defeats the purpose of my routine. So, after a couple of layers, I go in with my Hada Labo Gokujyun Lotion and any other hydrating serum I have in hand.
So, if you have any skin type easily prone to dehydration, you’ll love this toner.

Price & Availability
Depending on where you buy it, this toner retails for different prices. I bought mine from a seller straight from Japan on eBay a couple of years ago. But I’ll advise you to buy it directly from Asian online retailers because their prices are usually the cheapest.
Review of the Cezanne High Moist Skin Conditioner
So I use this toner as the first step of my routine after cleansing in the AM & PM. I go in with multiple layers until I’m satisfied with the suppleness of my skin. Then I follow up with my hydrating and treatment serums.

Performance
I thought it was underwhelming the first few times I used this toner. But then, after using it more regularly this past couple of months, it has grown on me. So, it definitely wasn’t love at first sight.
As someone with dry, dehydrated skin who layers several products depending on the season, this toner gives me a lovely base without worrying about other products piling. It goes without saying that regardless of the number of products layered over it, they won’t pile.
In Conclusion,
If your skin is prone to dehydration and you’re looking for an affordable toner to use that is packed with so many hydrating benefits, you should consider the Cezanne High Moist Conditioner.
