How To Choose The Best Hosting Provider For Your Blog

*This post may contain affiliate links, which means I may receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you make a purchase through a link! This supports me and keeps my blog running.*

This post will share practical tips and tricks for choosing the best hosting provider for your blog.

I’ve been using Lyrical Host for almost two years, and I recently upgraded my plan to their highest because of the number of blogs I own.

It just occurred to me that I’ve had no issues with them.

Before upgrading my plan a few months ago, I tried to cut corners by choosing a seemingly cheaper popular hosting provider.

You never know what you’re getting into until you read the fine print.

Ultimately, Lyrical Host still came out on top despite their slightly higher pricing.

They increased their prices at the beginning of the year to reflect the current inflation rates.

I was a bit conflicted because I knew I would upgrade soon.

Imagine my surprise when I learned that existing customers will not be charged the new fees.

I was pretty impressed with the transparency and loyalty.

Most companies usually jump at the first chance to charge existing customers their new prices.

I know they’re a small company, but I

I hope word gets out about how amazing they are, especially for UK bloggers.

I do not have to worry about the technical aspect of my blog at all for any reason.

I’m sure I do enough technical work at my day job.

How To Choose The Best Hosting Provider For Your Blog

Here Are Five Things To Consider When Choosing Your Blog’s Hosting Provider.

Based on your experience, here are some things to remember when choosing your hosting provider.

You don’t want to be locked in for one year only to find out they have the worst customer service.

In no particular order;

Initial & Renewal Prices

One of the ways these companies lock you in is by enticing us with rock-bottom prices.

This might look attractive for the first few months, but renewal prices are the issue.

I’m unsure who started this marketing strategy, but imagine changing hosting companies every three months because you can’t afford the renewal prices.

It’s even worse for blogs that are not making enough money yet.

So open your eyes and read the fine print.

Don’t get too carried away with the cheap deals.

I love Lyrical Host for being upfront.

Their renewal prices don’t change after signing on.

They also don’t try to lure you with any sneaky deals.

The prices you start with are what you’ll continue with for as long as possible.

Flexible Payment Plans

Some of us are not making enough money to keep our blogs afloat.

This is why I appreciate hosting companies with flexible payment plans.

It tells me that they understand the blogging industry and how difficult it can be to kick your blog off the ground.

I remember starting with a quarterly plan because that was the only bulk money I could afford to let go.

Even now, I still pay bi-annually for my Lyrical Host plan because I’m spending quite a bit, even though I’ve saved the entire fee for the year.

So, if you decide to go with the monthly or quarterly plan, pay your invoices on time.

Seamless Migration

If you started your blog on an existing hosting provider and want to switch, you want to ensure the new provider has a seamless migration process.

There’s nothing worse than losing traffic and income because your blog is down for more than a few hours.

Again, please read the fine print and ask about the migration process and how long it takes.

Lyrical Host has a booking system that ensures your blog receives adequate attention with zero downtime.

You book the day and time that is most convenient for you and give them the go-ahead when you’re ready.

You don’t have to be present for the entire process; they keep you posted at the beginning, middle, and end.

Excellent Customer Service

As I mentioned earlier, I’ve never had any issues with my blogs so far, and even when I had questions, they could answer as quickly as they could.

You need a hosting company that provides excellent customer service if you have an emergency with your blog.

There has to be someone you can quickly speak to in less than an hour.

Lyrical Host has a dedicated Facebook Group for their customers.

So, if you have any questions, you can ask and get a response almost immediately.

For more technical issues, you can raise a ticket, and they’ll respond in two hours or less.

User-friendly Dashboard

I love when brands pay attention to their platforms’ user interface and experience.

The more intuitive the dashboard, the more likely I am to figure things out on my own before contacting customer service.

Some dashboards can be cluttered and confusing, but I love it when companies simplify them. It just makes the entire user experience pleasant.

Finally,

If you’re looking for an affordable and supportive hosting provider, I strongly recommend Lyrical Host.

In addition to hosting services, they also provide free blogging resources, including stock photos, hosting guides, illustrations, printable colouring pages, and so much more.
