This post will be sharing six amazing podcasts for women in their 20s.
There’s absolutely nothing like a great podcast to kick you out of a creative slump! It never fails. Every. Single. Time! Podcasts are typically short, sweet and easily to digest. Unlike YouTube videos or blog posts, they do not require your full attention. Possibly one of the best things about podcasts is the ability to multitask while listening in. You really don’t have to be fully focused to enjoy podcasts.
Personally, I enjoy listening to them while I’m doing mundane tasks like creating pins for my Pinterest or editing a blog post. They mostly come in very handy when the said tasks are generally boring. These days, I’ve found myself listening to more podcasts so I thought I should absolutely share my new faves.
As you will see below, I really don’t like listening to too many podcasts at once because it is hard to keep up. Sometimes, I just listen to the same comedy podcast every week depending on my mood. Other times, when I want a motivational boost, I choose a career or business podcast. Over time, I’ve noticed that I listen to podcasts for two major reasons: entertainment and motivation.
Here Are Six Amazing Podcasts for Women In Their 20s
How I Built This with Guy Raz
This is easily my favourite podcast of all time. I don’t know if you are aware but I used to run a service business. As a result of how difficult entrepreneurship was, I always found solace in listening to the success stories of other founders who have made it. Listening to this podcast first thing in the morning on my commute to work always had me hyped for the day. It is so amazing! If you are an established or even an aspiring business owner, I highly recommend How I Built This. There are quite a few female founders as well as couple interviews you will find absolutely inspiring!
Clever Girls Know Podcast
One of my most important money management tips is educating myself about money. With all the free information on the internet, I literally have no excuse. I’ve been following the Clever Girl Finance brand for a few years now and I absolutely buy into the vision. Bola’s major goal is to help women like me achieve financial freedom. What more could you possibly want? It is for women by women. If you have bad money habits or you’re just generally struggling with money, I suggest you give it a few listens. It never fails to deliver valuable information. I strongly believe that Clever Girls Know is one of the best podcasts for women.
The Gary Vee Audio Experience
A lot of people have a love-hate relationship with Gary Vee which is completely understandable. He can sometimes be too much. Even for me. But there is absolutely no doubt about how valuable and useful his content is especially when you need a pick-me-up. If you have been unmotivated for a while or you simply just want to start a project and you need all the motivation you can get, Gary Vee is your guy. I’ve consumed a lot of his content. From his Crushing It book to his blog, social media and podcast and they never fail to get me hyped with all the motivation I need.
Girl Boss Radio with Sophia Amoruso
A couple of years ago, I discovered Sophia Amoruso and the Nasty Gal brand. I read her famous Girl Boss book and learnt a lot more about her and her journey to the infamous catchphrase. But a couple of weeks ago, I discovered her podcast and I quite enjoyed it. Even though it currently on a break now, I enjoyed catching up on a few old episodes. She interviews top female executives and founders who share their journeys to success. I don’t know about you but I prefer learning from other’s experiences than from my own mistakes. Also, learning from these people opens your mind to ideas and possibilities you never knew existed.
Being Boss
Another of the latest addition to my podcast library is Being Boss. This one is for creative entrepreneurs or ‘creatives’ as they like to be called. It gives you so much useful information you need to create a side-hustle or transition from your 9-5. It’s packed with practical tips such as creating a business plan, finding a partner or a ‘business bestie’ and generally tailored business lessons that pertain to creatives. If you consider yourself one, you should definitely check out this podcast.
Bonus: Shagged Married Annoyed
Closely followed by How I Built This, Shagged Married Annoyed is easily my next all-time favourite podcast. It’s so good that I listen to it unfailingly every week. When I can’t wait for new episodes, I go back and listen to previous old episodes. That’s how hilariously good it is. The hosts Chris and Rosie Ramsey really just ramble about their daily married lives for one hour straight. As a result of of their professions as comedians, that one hour is usually rib-cracking. It is literally belly laugh good! So, when I need to do a really boring task to pass the time, I tune in to keep myself entertained. The Shagged Married Annoyed podcast has such been an amazing companion during this lockdown. I can’t thank them enough. I’m so looking forward to buying the audio version of their newly released book when it is out. Check out this list of seven hilarious British comedy podcasts that you will enjoy!
Here are my current favourite podcasts for women. As time goes on, I’ll keep you updated with new podcasts that I discover.
