This post will be reviewing the Tonymoly Wonder Ceramide Moochi Toner.

I’m so excited to review this toner because I’ve been using it in my Winter Skincare Routine. It has taken its place as a holy grail product for dry skin in such a short time. While a lot of people are still iffy about the importance of toners in our skincare routine, I have dry dehydrated skin and hydrating toners have changed my life.

Once in a while, I stumble on toners that completely reinforce my decision to include hydrating toners in my daily skincare routine. This product is one of them. So, if you still struggle with dehydrated skin regardless of your skin type, I implore you to consider introducing toners to your routine. It might seem like an extra step but it oh so worth it. Give it a try sometime.

Now, let’s dive into this product!

Tonymoly Wonder Ceramide Mocchi Toner - Review

First Impressions of the TonyMoly Wonder Ceramide Moochi Toner

According to TonyMoly;

A multi-use, value-sized toner that works wonders? Meet our Wonder Ceramide Mochi Toner, a hydrating, skin-repairing toner that nourishes weak, dry skin with a hydrating viscous texture so skin looks and feels stronger and healthier. Formulated with ceramides that help reinforce skin’s moisture barrier and EWG Green ingredients. Our gentle, hypoallergenic toner provides daily care that helps strengthen, hydrate, and protect the skin so you can achieve smooth, bouncy, mocchi-like skin!

This is one of the few times a product promise actually lives up to its claim.

As you can see, it is a hydrating toner targeted especially towards weak, dry dehydrated skin that needs to be nourished. Sometimes, our skin doesn’t necessarily need active ingredients to bounce back. Sometimes, a good hydrating product is all it needs.

Ingredient List

Again, according to TonyMoly the key ingredients are;

  • 5000 ppb/0.0005% Ceramide – Repairs and reinforces skin’s moisture barrier.
  • Panthenol (Vitamin B5) and Hyaluronic Acid – Penetrates deep to nourish skin and provide lasting hydration.
  • Centella Asiatica – Provides skin-soothing care.

And the full ingredient list reads:

Water Dipropylene Glycol Glycerin Water Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate Glycereth-26 1,2-Hexanediol Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil Water Phenyl Trimethicone Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer Styrene/VP Copolymer Centella Asiatica Extract Ethylhexylglycerin Glycerin Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer Tromethamine Disodium EDTA Aniba rosaeodora (Rosewood) Wood Oil Citrus Limon (Lemon) Seed Oil Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride Water Allantoin Hydrogenated Lecithin Phytosteryl/Octyldodecyl Lauroyl Glutamate Panthenol Ceramide NP Sodium Hyaluronate

The Good Stuff

As you can see from the highlighted ingredients, the Tonymoly Wonder Ceramide Mocchi Toner has some great hydrating ingredients for dry skin. Including Glycerin and Sodium Hyaluronate.

It also has some skin barrier strengthening ingredients like Panthenol and Ceramides.

Not forgetting skin soothing ingredients like Centella Asiatica and Allantoin.

Not a shabby ingredient list at all until you stumble on the essential oil.

The Not-So-Great Stuff

The fact that this product has Lemon Essential Oil automatically means that people with sensitive skin might not be able to use this product. Which is a damn shame because it is such an amazing product. So, if you know that your skin reacts to essential oils, I’ll prefer you skip this toner except you find a sample size you can try out before committing to the full bottle.

All in all, asides from the essential oil, the product claims and ingredient list match the performance.

Texture & Consistency

Some people say this is a dupe for the increasingly popular Laneige Cream Skin Refiner. Well, I don’t think it is because this is a much lighter toner with a milky/creamy consistency. I feel like I’m officially over watery toners that really don’t pack much. These days, I’m gravitating towards ‘coloured’ toners including Creamy, Artemisa and Ginseng Toners. As long as it is not white or watery, I’ll go for it.

Like I mentioned earlier, this is not a heavy toner at all. It is lightweight enough for the 7 Skins Method which is pretty much seven layers of toner. The toner is not sticky neither is it greasy. It is light enough to decant into a spray bottle if you don’t want to layer it with your palm. It is just a great feel-good toner that does what it claims to do.

Price & Packaging

One of the reasons why I love Japanese Skincare is because of their jumbo size products. They don’t joke around with their 500ml toners. This product has also joined my hall of fame of jumbo toners. It also comes in a 500ml bottle that is easy to apply and/or decant. The best part? You can get it for less than £20/$20 as long as you’re not buying it from an overpriced retailer.

I’ve used it for a while as my daily toner during the winter. I’ve also decanted some into a spray bottle and I just halfway through it. That’s how much it is.

Review of the TonyMoly Wonder Ceramide Mocchi Toner

So, I’ve been using this product for about three months now. I specifically bought it to use in my Winter Skincare Routine and it has surely delivered.

Performance

I use this toner as my first hydration step after cleansing. I apply a bit on my palm and rub it all over my face. You can see the immediate difference with just one layer. My skin is soft, supple and most importantly hydrated. Just like the name says, you get the ‘mocchi effect’ even after just one layer. This is pretty much just an unmissable glow! Of course, I don’t stop there. I go further with a couple more layers before moving on to the next step. The amazing thing is, no matter how many layers you use, it doesn’t feel heavy at all. It’s almost like my skin drinks it up immediately and still asks for more. This is why Tonymoly actually recommends it for the 7 Skins Method.

I so much love how my skin looks and feels after using this product. It’s so good that I can easily stop my routine there and finsih up with a moisturizer. But it is winter and extra layers are always needed. For the price and size, this toner has become one of my holy grails.

TonyMoly Wonder Ceramide Mocchi Toner Dupes & Alternatives.

As a result of the presence of essential oil, people with sensitive skin might not be able to use it. So, here are a couple of dupes:

  • Laneige Cream Skin Refiner
  • I’m From Rice Toner

( I’ll continue to look out for more and keep this list updated.)

In Conclusion,

Insanely hydrating toner that makes your skin glow with a great price and size, what’s not to love?
