This post will be sharing the twelve best hydrating toners for dehydrated skin.
If there is one product that people including online dermatologists swear that you don’t need in your skincare routine, it is toners. There’s such a bad rep around them for no reason. Granted before now, the only toners in the US market were alcohol-based toners and astringents. Case in point: the infamous Thayers Witch Hazel Toner. Which is probably why they are not necessary for your routine because they will only dry out your skin and make it worse. But then, times have changed especially with the growing popularity of Korean and Japanese Skincare. I kind of expect these professionals to champion a better narrative around hydration.
People like me with dry dehydrated skin with no hope at all have found relief from hydrating toners and essences. These products have literally changed my life. My skin is gradually getting a semblance of normalcy and my confidence has improved. All because I’ve found amazing Korean Skincare products that don’t make me look ashy anymore.
In the last couple of weeks, I’ve been getting quite a number of requests for toner recommendations in my Skincare Facebook Group. While I had already had this post in my content schedule, I decided to move it up a bit to help those that are really struggling with dehydrated skin.
So, if your skin is normal, oily, dry, combination and still dehydrated, here are the best Korean hydrating toners you can use.
Here are 12 Best Hydrating Toners for the most dehydrated skin.
I’ll like to point out that all the recommendations in this post will be strictly Korean Skincare because they are simply top tier when it comes to hydration. Plus you’ll be doing your skin a great disservice if you don’t try them.
This is a product that I’m using in my current Winter Skincare Routine. I love it soo much and the hydration is top-notch! In fact, with just one layer of this product, you can see the instant glow. Of course, for even more hydration, you can go in with several layers. It is formulated with Glycerin, Ceramide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Panthenol and Centella Asiatica Extract to mention a few. Plus it comes in a massive 500ml bottle which is an absolute steal for its price!
Cosrx Propolis Synergy Toner
This is a recently released toner by the globally popular Korean Skincare brand, Cosrx. This product has a whopping 72.6% Black Bee Propolis Extract. When you think about propolis, think about bees and all the by-products they produce including honey, royal jelly and beeswax. Propolis has amazing hydrating, soothing and moisturizing properties. So, you know that this toner will be very hydrating due to the high percentage of propolis.
Klairs Supple Preparation Unscented Toner
This list cannot be complete without the incredibly popular Klairs Toner. It is a lightweight moisturizing toner that works across all skin types which is why a lot of people love it. The Klairs toner is formulated with so much good stuff including Beta Glucan, Aloe Leaf Extract, Panthenol, Licorice Root Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract to mention a few. If you don’t try any other toner on this list, you should try the Klairs Toner. it is a great introduction to Korean Skincare.
Pyungkang Yul Essence Toner
Closely followed by the Klairs Toner in popularity is the Pyungkang Yul Essence Toner. It also has a great formula that seems to appeal to most skin types. This is because it is formulated with 91.3% Milk Vecht Root Extract also known as Astragalus Extract. In skincare, this extract is packed with so many benefits particularly fighting acne and ageing concerns. But most importantly, it is very hydrating. It doesn’t leave a tacky finish as it absorbs very fast into the skin.
Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Toner
Another toner that rose to popularity in 2020 is the Roundlab Dokdo Toner. This is a product that was formulated specifically for those with sensitive skin. If your skin reacts to any of those extra plant extracts found in a lot of toners, then this product is for you. It has a simple ingredient list that comprises of mostly Glycerin, Panthenol and Allantoin which all have soothing and hydrating properties.
Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner Plus
A lot of people have a love-hate relationship with Hyaluronic Acid. This is because they keep using products from brands with badly formulated Hyaluronic Acid products. Sometimes, you need to use different brands before you conclude that your skin hates an ingredient. This toner has five different types of Hyaluronic Acid and is best suited for people like me with dry dehydrated skin. It is also formulated with hydrating ingredients like Beta Glucan, Aloe Leaf Extract, Panthenol, Sodium PCA and Glycerin. It definitely packs a punch!
Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Skin
This is another toner that I honestly wish I could soak my entire body in. Formulated with Green Tea which is packed with antioxidants and has inflammatory properties, it has a thicker consistency which also absorbs very fast into the skin. A note of warning though: you might be tempted to go in with several layers because of how hydrating it is. It is some fragrance which is barely noticeable but improves the general experience of the product.
I’m From Rice Toner
While I personally prefer the I’m From Fig Essence for hydration, a lot of people swear by this product. It is formulated with 77.78% of Rice Extract which has incredible moisturization and brightening properties. Coupled with Niacinamide, you have a toner that will simultaneously brighten and hydrate your skin whilst giving you that glow you very much desire. Even the dullest dehydrated skin will notice a drastic improvement with this toner.
Benton Snail Bee High Content Skin
Another of my favourite toner is the Benton Snail Bee High Content Skin. While the Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence has a special place in my heart, I recently fell in love with the toner. Formulated with Snail Secretion Filtrate, Niacinamide and Bee Venom, it is also packed with Beta Glucan. Panthenol, Allantoin, Aloe Leaf Extract for all the hydration your skin will need.
Cosrx Centella Alcohol-Free Toner
Back on the list is Cosrx with this no-fuss Centella Toner. If your skin gets red and irritated easily and you always need a product to soothe and calm it down, this toner is for you. It has a very shorted ingredient list with just the basics; Mineral Water, Centella Asiatica, Panthenol, Allantoin and Sodium Hyaluronate.
Laneige Cream Skin Refiner
A notable mention is the increasingly popular Laneige Cream Skin Refiner. This is an innovative product that manages to formulate a moisturizing cream into toner and as such, it is incredibly hydrating. Truly remarkable! If you have dry dehydrated skin, this product is definitely for you as any other skin type might find it too heavy. With a simple ingredient list of Green Tea, Vitamin E and Glycerin, you know that this toner will not clash with any other actives in your routine.
Keep Cool Soothe Bamboo Toner
To wrap up this list of the best hydrating toners is the Keep Cool Soothe Bamboo Toner. As the name implies, it is formulated with 85% Bamboo Water which soothes and hydrates the skin. So, if you have sensitive skin that is easily prone to irritation, dehydration and redness, this toner is for you. Like the rest of the toners on this list, it also has plant extracts to support the effectiveness of the Bamboo Water.
Every skin type should prioritize hydration. It’s not until you skin becomes dehydrated before you start looking for the best toners to use. Prioritizing hydration early on helps to delay the signs of ageing that come with dehydrated skin. If you also layer a lot of products from The Ordinary Skincare, for instance, using a toner immediately after cleansing helps prep your skin for easy absorptions and prevents pilling of subsequent products.
I hope you’re able to find a great toner that works for your skin type with these recommendations of the best hydrating toners to use.
